Muay Thai Teeps in Action: Watch the Pros Put Them to Work

by Oct 31, 2026Training

A Muay Thai fighter in black and white shorts lands a Lead Teep with the ball of his foot into his opponent's stomach, his rear glove at his chin, in a fight ring under arena lights.

We’ve spent this series breaking down the Muay Thai Teep (ถีบ), from basic technique to common mistakes, and ways to generate more power.

Now it’s time to see what this kick can really do!

Top 20 Muay Thai Teeps in ONE Championship

Video: ONE Championship YouTube channel.

This video comes from ONE Championship, an organization that features three major striking combat sports: Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). While the rules are different, you’ll see fighters putting the Teep to work in all three sports.

A well-timed Teep can stop an opponent in his tracks, knock him off balance, break his rhythm, or send him flying backward.

And when you watch experienced fighters use it, you’ll see that the Teep is much more than a simple push kick. It’s a weapon that can completely control a fight.

Watch the video and pay attention to the timing, distance, and reactions. Sometimes the best Teep isn’t the hardest one. It’s the one your opponent never sees coming.

Enough talking about Teeps. Let’s watch some in action!

Put These Teep Techniques Into Practice

After watching these highlights, pick one Teep that catches your attention. Think about what made it work. Was it the timing, the distance, or the way the fighter caught his opponent moving forward?

Try working that same idea into your next training session. Start slowly, focus on good technique, and gradually build up your speed and power.

This is one of the things I enjoy most about teaching Muay Thai: helping students take techniques they’ve seen and learn how to make them work.
